Husky has expanded its asphalt capacity with the purchase of a refinery in Superior, Wisconsin. Husky took over operation of the facility on Nov. 8, 2017.
The refinery currently produces about 9,000 barrels per day (bbls/day) of asphalt, 17,500 bbls/day of gasoline and 10,900 bbls/day of diesel, as well as heavy fuel oils.
With this refinery, Husky increases its capacity, expands into new markets and, ultimately, grows its asphalt business.
Husky will retain the approximately 180 people employed at the Superior refinery, combining their expertise with the solid customer service, technical expertise and high-quality products Husky has delivered to customers across North America for more than 75 years.
Husky thanks its asphalt customers for their ongoing business and looks forward to a continued relationship. Stay tuned as further details will be shared here as Husky integrates the Superior Refinery into its existing network.
