The Husky team produces top-quality asphalt, industry-leading emulsions and innovative products that offer dust control, road stabilization, and de-icing. Husky operates a network of more than 80 cardlock sites that offer professional drivers the products and services they need when and where they need them.
Since 1947, when Husky established its Canadian heavy oil operations in Lloydminster, Alberta, the Company has produced industrial paving asphalt and specialty asphalt products that have consistently surpassed government and client specifications. In fact, in most Canadian provinces, industry standards and specifications are based on the properties of Husky’s high-viscosity asphalt.
T.J. Pounder & Company was formed in Manitoba in 1948, distributing asphalt and other construction materials, including emulsified asphalts. In 1957 it began manufacturing emulsified asphalts.
Husky acquired Pounder Emulsions in 1982 and continues to develop and promote innovative products and technologies in the field, including supplying products for dust control, road stabilization, and de-icing.
In the mid-1950s Husky’s travel centres, featuring Husky House restaurants, began dotting the landscape along the Trans-Canada highway. Families and professional drivers alike appreciate services which include: showers, take-out foods, full-service dining and drivers’ lounges.
